How Overage Works

On Free and Basic plans, you get a warning before you hit your limit so you are never caught off guard. Once your limit is reached, here is what happens based on your plan.

Common Questions

What counts as a unique customer?
Each unique phone number that joins your queue in a billing cycle counts as one customer. Ghost entries, PIN-only joins without a phone number, and customers already in the Ready For status do not count toward your limit.
When does my usage reset?
Your customer count resets at the start of every billing cycle. For monthly plans that means once per month on your billing date.
Will I know before I hit my limit?
Yes. You will receive a warning notification when you are within 100 customers of your limit and again at 50 customers remaining. After your first overage warning in a billing cycle, we only notify you once per cycle so we are not repeatedly bothering you.
What happens if I miss a payment?
If you miss a payment your account will be paused until the balance is settled. If you were on a grandfathered or promotional rate, missing a payment forfeits that rate. When you resume, you will be placed on the current plan pricing at the time of reactivation.
Can I change plans anytime?
Yes. You can upgrade or downgrade at any time. Upgrades take effect immediately. Downgrades take effect at the start of your next billing cycle.
Is there a contract or commitment?
No contracts. No commitments. Cancel anytime. If you cancel mid-cycle your access continues until the end of the billing period you already paid for.
What are my responsibilities as a business owner on WhyWait?
As a business owner you are responsible for keeping your queue accurate and notifying customers in a timely manner. You agree not to use WhyWait for any fraudulent, misleading, or harmful purpose. You are responsible for ensuring your customers have consented to receive text messages through your queue. Full details are in our Terms and Conditions.
